As with Mental Health First Aid, however, this course was specifically design for those who work with adolescents and covers additional modules of non-suicidal intentionally injury and eating disorders.
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID - Edition 2
Mental health crisis situations:
- Suicidal behaviour/thoughts
- Non-suicidal self injury
- Panic attack/Acute stress reaction
- Severe psychotic behaviour
The developing mental health problems in adolescents covered are:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorder
- Psychosis
- Substance use disorders
- Eating Disorders
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
